Makeup minerals can be confusing. With all the news coverage in the past year everyone has been looking for natural minerals. Being natural makeup minerals does not mean that they will work very good. Even some of the most popular are really ineffective. They could really cause some serious skin problems.
Naturally, you want to get as much as you can from the minerals in your makeup. However, they may not want to switch over to mineral makeup entirely. Perhaps all they want is earth minerals. Or maybe its just for the anti-aging benefits. Maybe they just want to stay away from the problems that makeup minerals can cause.
Knowing the ramifications of the mineral content in your makeup is a must. There are many different makeup minerals. We have put together a list below. You will understand your makeup’s contents after reading this.
• Zinc and zinc oxide
Pure mineral makeups usually contain these products. These minerals are natural sunscreens. They also can smooth out your features and hide wrinkles. In pure forms, they do not irritate skin.
• Titanium dioxide
This mineral is also very common in natural makeups. Your complexion will be smooth if you use this type of pure minerals. This is recommended for those with acne or rosacea problems as it can help relieve. The mineral makeup will become less hypoallergenic if mixed with synthetic ingredients.
• Mica
The anti-aging mineral that is added to these natural makeups is Mica. Look for this mineral when buying your pure mineral makeup. This mineral distracts the attention away from skin problems. When this mineral is added to makeup, it is ground up so fine that you can’t tell its there. This mineral is also located in many non-mineral and anti-aging products.
• Bismuth
Bismuth has long been a very controversial mineral. After all, it is a pure mineral. But, the earth mineral must be completely processed to be used in makeup. It is very hard to just grind this mineral into a powder. There are a few people that claim it shouldn’t even be considered a pure earth mineral. It creates a fresh “glow” that many users love. Itching is a side effect that can result if you have sensitive skin or tend to sweat.
• Talc
Talc is a classic makeup mineral. It has long been used in consmetics. Talc is a mineral that people can be allergic to. Its main function is to be used as a filler. Talc is in most all conventional makeups. Makeup minerals usually exclude this mineral, even though it is legitimate, due to it being a common alergen.
